I am so happy to share with you my Best Friend Timothy, he is an Artist,Writer and Photographer. He is truly a talented person and i’m glad to call him my friend.
What inspired you to write?
I’ve always been a writer. I have short stories that I would dictate to my Mother before I learned how to write. I guess I’ve always had a wild and vivid imagination. My Grandma lived with my family for many years and she read a lot and also wrote short stories and poetry so I guess I got my love of reading and writing from her.
Do you have a specific writing style?
If I do have a style, I’m constantly trying to break out of my style and try something new, write from a different perspective, or tackle a fresh topic that is interesting to me.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writings?
The most challenging part of writing to me is forcing myself to sit down and have the patience to put down my thoughts and ideas on paper but once I make myself start writing it is very hard to stop.
What books have most influenced your life most?
I really enjoy reading “Dystopian” stories. I’ve always been a sort of pessimist when it comes to the world and the future so these stories are interesting to me because they express the author’s ideas of how things could be years from now.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
I would say Ray Bradbury was the most influential writer for me because I felt a kind of connection with him from the first time I read his work. My favorite collection of stories from him is the “Martian Chronicles”.
What book are you reading now?
Currently, I’m reading a book “On Killing” by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman on the psychological effects of killing in the war environment and its effects on the soldier during and after wartime.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
In the recent months I’ve been focusing on reading classic literature so I haven’t really sought out new pieces of work.
What are your current projects?
Currently I’m working on a short story that will become part of a series of short stories on how people respond to change in their lives. I’m also working on two sequels to two novels I’ve written. In the free time that is left during my day I am also re-reading and editing my autobiography which I hope to be completed by the end of this year.
