We live in a world which is fast paced and you are constantly getting pulled five places at once! So getting time to actually put on makeup can be a task and you just wish you had some machine that can apply it for you. Even as a beauty blogger some times I just wish there was a way I could create a look thats simple. So I decided instead of wishing to actually do it and share it with all of my lovely readers that you can achieve a retro look with drugstore products and it will take you next to nothing to apply!
As a beauty blogger I am obsessed with makeup and I love it, but I also love applying quick makeup that I can so at anytime and anywhere. I thought it would be a great idea to share this Smokey retro look with you all that I created with Rimmel products! Which by the way cost me under $25 to create. I went to walmart and got all I needed for a great price!
Let’s get started!!
First things first you need to cleanse your face and moisturize, after you have done so apply primer. I used the Rimmel london BB Cream in Medium/Dark, make sure to apply it all over your face including your neck. I am in love with this product, I use it everyday instead of foundation at times because it’s just as good.
Apply Foundation: I used the Stay matte mousse foundation in 203-True Beige, as I said before make sure to completely cover your face with the foundation including your neck area. You don’t want your neck to be one color then your face another, trust me I have been there done that and it sucks haha.
Next it’s time to apply eye-shadow! This is my favorite part of doing makeup, I love to create as many looks as I can it’s so much fun! I used the Glam Eyes Quad Eye-Shadow in 002 Smokey Brun. Also I made sure to prime my eyelids and eyelashes before adding anything on. It’s important to prime always, it sets the base for anything you will be putting on your eyes, lips or face. It makes everything last a bit longer, which is always important especially if you are on the go.
I started by applying the lightest shade all over my lid, took the gold color and applied it to my lower lid. I took the darkest color and put it on my outer crease, make sure to blend that in the crease really well. I wanted to go for a more smokey look so I added a bit of the ScandalEyes Eye-shadow Crayon in 004 Guilty Grey on my crease and blended well. To the tie the eye-shadow together make sure to put a bit of the lightest shade on the brow bone and blend, it’s always important to blend your eye-shadow in to remove harsh lines you may have created.
Don’t forget to apply mascara! I was going to apply false eyelashes but I thought that would have a been a bit too much for a day look, especially since I already have long lashes. But it’s always an option for creating a dramatic look just pop on a pare of falsies and viola drama! The Mascara I used to tie in this look is Scandal Eyes Retro Glam mascara in 003 Extreme black. I seriously am in love with this mascara. It instantly makes my lashes fuller and longer with one swipe. If you want to create a dramatic look make sure to always do side ways motions to create instant drama.
Don’t forget the lips as well to complete the look. I used the Stay Glossy 180 Eternal Flirt from Rimmel, it says it last for up to six hours!
All of these products cost just under $25 dollars and can be found at your local walmart!
