I’ve noticed when a plus size women Dares to shed her clothing for a spread it tends to get people’s panties in a bunch. As you can see Plus Size Model Katya Zharkova snagged an 8-page editorial for PLUS Model Magazine, in which she appears totally naked…and surrounded by captions with controversial statistics. For example: “Twenty years ago the average fashion model weighed 8% less than the average woman. Today she weighs 23% less.” And also: “Most runway models meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for Anorexia.” I can’t say these are true statistics because i’m not quite sure about them. But i’m guessing alot of people are calling this a controversial spread because of the shock factor the pictures have made and the statistics shown on them. *View the rest here*
I loved the spread and the message they were trying to get across that many did not understand. What i got from it is that a Bigger body is just as beautiful as a smaller body. And how the fashion industry is destroying the young woman’s psyche, and pushing them the to the extreme. Either way i have seen some nasty and negative comments on different websites, towards the smaller size women and the plus size woman.
With Comments like Being Skinny is disgusting…The skinny one is ugly and unhealthy! Then the Plus size one is a fat ugly pig and she should lose some weight she must be so unhealthy.
DO you see what was said there? what was similar of the two? They assumed they both were unhealthy, how have they come to this conclusion because of their outward appearances.. Trying to claim you can tell anything about someone’s actual health by just looking at a photo is ludicrous. How are we to know they are unhealthy unless we go to a Doctor’s appt with them both. Why do we judge each other so harshly? I cannot assume that the smaller model is Anorexic because i don’t know if she is just by looking at her. Just like if i look at the bigger model and assume she is unhealthy.. I wish we could stop making broad assumptions one way or the other.
A person who is plus size can be healthy just like a smaller person can. They both can be unhealthy too, it’s all about how you take care of your body. you see that word there “YOUR” Remember it is your body do not let anyone tell you there is anything wrong with it, Its yours and only yours.
Are we are just a mean society that have no regards to people’s feelings? some people feel like they are just helping the other person *oh your just so skinny you should eat a sandwich* or * Did you ever think of going to the gym or something because you’re looking a bit pudgy* How is this helping anyone? your just messing with a persons self-esteem and making them think there is something wrong with them. Why is it our business how a person chooses to treat their body? If the person is Plus size and is healthy why do we still judge them? Same with a skinny person, if they are healthy what is it to you to open your mouth and tell them they are not…….
I found this quote on the inter webs and i just loved it. its something we all should learn and live by Skinny or Plus size. (sorry about it being in caps it came like that)
MY BODY IS NOT A REPRESENTATION OF MY FAILURES, SINS, OR MISTAKES. MY BODY IS NOT A SIGN THAT I AM IN POOR HEALTH, OR THAT I AM NOT PHYSICALLY FIT. MY BODY IS NOT UP FOR PUBLIC DISCUSSION, DEBATE OR JUDGMENT. MY BODY IS NOT A SIGNAL THAT I NEED YOUR HELP OR INPUT TO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT MY HEALTH OR LIFE. MY BODY IS THE CONSTANT COMPANION THAT HELPS ME DO EVERY SINGLE THING THAT I DO EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY AND IT DESERVES RESPECT AND ADMIRATION. IF YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF APPRECIATING MY BODY THAT IS YOUR DEFICIENCY, NOT MINE, AND I DO NOT CARE. NOR AM I INTERESTED IN HEARING YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE MATTER SO, IF YOU WANT TO BE AROUND ME, YOU ARE 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES TO KEEP THOSE THOUGHTS TO YOURSELF. IF YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF DOING THAT I WILL LEAVE AND SPEND MY TIME WITH PEOPLE WHO CAN TREAT ME APPROPRIATELY. PLEASE PASS THE GREEN BEANS).~Dances with Fat ♥
Why does must we always compare being plus size to unhealthy? Why do we say Skinner women are all anorexic? We have to stop hating each other and just love one another at the size we are. Stop Judging, take a breath and Start Loving the skin you are in!
As i always say You CAN”T judge a book by its cover without reading the pages first……

I read that post, and I just was like, omg it looks like a women with her child. I 100% have the body type of the woman on the right, she’s basically my exact proportions except for the muscle going on whatever muscle is btwn the hand and elbow. I get so discouraged when I go shopping and I can’t find stuff that looks cute on me, like it’s made to fit really skinny people. When I was in high school and really in shape, I was fit but even then frustrated with my stomach because it just does not stay completely flat at any weight. I really like your thoughts on the article, and I honestly think maybe if there were more models like the woman on the right in magazines, tv shows, or maybe if the clothes on the rack looked better on her than the woman on the left it would help my self esteem, personally. Till then, just focusing on eating healthy and getting in shape like you said, and not being mad at myself.
