Nothing makes me feel good then having a great Bra on, I know most women agree that when you find that one Bra it can literally change your mood. I mean you want to wear that bra all the time, but sometimes wearing one Bra too much can cause this betrayal.
Thats why finding a bra that fits is so important to me, especially being plus sized at times it can be difficult to find bra’s that fit correctly. Just recently I found out I was a Double D and was wearing a C cup for years before I knew what size I really was. That’s why I make sure I use a reliable guide like this one from Kohls, to help me find the best bra for my shape. I was very happy when Kohls offered to help me find my #FavoriteBra and picked out a few that I liked.
I Ordered the Curve it up Vixen, Goddess,Angel Full Coverage Balconette bras by Perfects Australia I really loved the Vixen Balconette bra had so much coverage and held everything in. It was very comfortable as well, we all know we have that one bra that cuts right into us and makes breathing hard to do haha.
When I got my package I was a bit too excited about it and so happy they came so quickly! I love to shop so when I get a package in the mail I get super happy.
I’m so glad that they actually fit so well, I think I am pretty obsessed with the Perfects Australia’s Line already. I wanted to share a few tips on how to find that perfect fit while being plus sized! It has been said that more than 85% of women are wearing the wrong size. When looking for a bra it depends on your body shape and size, I have smaller breasts than some plus size women. So when I try to find bra’s they usually never fit me, the band is perfect but the cup is gaping because I don’t have enough to fill it haha. I have learned for someone with my frame a balconette bra like the Vixen/goddess at Kohls or a padded plunge bra will look great, and if you need more lift and support try a full coverage bra. In particular, full-figured petite women “like myself” often have difficulty with their underwires poking them under the arms. If that describes you, a soft cup bra will help you get the cup coverage you need without underwires that are too long. Don’t be afraid to try a bra with molded cups. Although molded cup bra looks larger on the hanger, it won’t add inches to your bust and it will give you excellent support that you need.
Here is a checklist you should go through to see if you are wearing the right bra!
- The band is responsible for 80% to 90% of the support of the bra. It should fit comfortably around your torso, parallel to the floor. The band should be snug but you should be able to slide two fingers between the band and your skin. The band should never ride up toward your shoulders.
- Straps are responsible for only 10% to 20% of the bra support, their primary function is to even or level the bra. They should stay in place without digging into your shoulders.
- Whether you’re wearing a full cup or a demi cup, your breasts should fit inside the cup with no spillage over the top, under the cup or around your underarms. If you’re spilling out of the cup, you need a larger cup size. If there are wrinkles in the fabric of the cup, you need a smaller cup size.
- The gore, the portion of the band between the cups, should fit flat against your chest wall between your breasts. If the gore is not flat against your sternum, your cups are too small.
- Underwires should completely surround your breasts and lay against your chest wall. The underwires should never dig into your breasts, your chest or underarms.
- In a properly fitted bra your nipples should be halfway between your shoulders and elbows, facing forward. Adjust your straps so your breasts are in this position.
- The bra should fit on the loosest hook, this allows you to tighten the bra as the elastic relaxes over time.
- Your bra should stay in place when you lift your arms or bend over.
Now that you know how to keep your girls happy check out this Video from Kohls on finding the perfect fit, also don’t forget to check out their guide as well.
