I woke up to some pretty amazing news in the beauty world today, COVERGIRL has picked a new brand ambassador and yes he is a guy! I am so excited about this, finally male MUA’s getting represented on a grand scale that has not been done before. Unfortunately news like this makes a few folks a bit “miffed” about COVERGIRL’s decision. To make a male a brand rep “saying men don’t wear makeup or It’s COVERGIRL not coverboy” But listen, Makeup is genderless let me repeat that makeup is genderless.. Men have worn makeup for thousands of years, the earliest record of men using cosmetics was in Asia, flash forward a couple of thousand years in ancient Rome, men would rock makeup too. So to see something like this come into fruition is giving me so much life now. @jcharlesbeauty / Via instagram.com
More about this amazing talented MUA named James Charles, he is a 17 year old makeup artist who started filming on youtube a year ago gaining at least 70,000 followers within a year. He created his IG account @Jcharlesbeauty , 441,000 instagram followers later he is making history as the first ever male to be a COVERGIRL rep! How amazing is that?!
I can finally announce that I am officially a new @COVERGIRL. First boy ever & I am so excited to see whats coming! #COVERGIRLJames pic.twitter.com/0wVHJYQ9M9

“Breaking gender norms just comes instantly as soon as a boy is comfortable and confident enough to put on makeup. I think it’s so important to love who you are and be comfortable in your own skin,” Charles told BuzzFeed.
“I really hope that as the first male CoverGirl that I am able to inspire others and give other people confidence to try out makeup! Hey, if a random 17-year-old guy can do it, you DEFINITELY can too!”
Good Luck James, I can’t wait to see what amazing and creative things you are going to do!!!
My Name is Violet i am a Fashion/Beauty Blogger I’ve blogged for more than 3years. I’m originally from Brooklyn, New York,i have spent 15 years in South Beach,Florida. I started blogging about Fashion and Beauty, plus events i attend frequently around the USA. As a Plus size or Curvy girl its hard to find nice clothing on a budget. Well at least that’s the case for myself. I Only shop in the clearance rack or when there is a sale i cannot pass up. It is possible to shop for fashionable clothing on a budget. And i’m here to help and give tips on how to achieve this. I want to show that you can still be a Fierce and Fabulous Curvy Gal on a thrift store budget.
