Finding people who have the same passion as you do in life is like finding a hidden treasure, or a rare gem. I have the utmost respect for people who believe that a curvy woman is beautiful too, living on an Island that does not acknowledge them as they should it is one of my missions in life to write about the full figured woman and to show the world that they are just as beautiful, smart and talented as any other woman.
I have found so many people on my journey that have joined forces with me and one is renowned artist Fernando Ferreiro from Spain. I read his wonderful interview written by Yadira Velez for two major newspapers in New York and LA, and to my surprise Veintitantos site for Mexico also posted the interview.
Ferreiro is drawing the most beautiful curvy women on earth and I am so happy that his muses include latinas like Yanderis Lodos, Lornalitz Baez, Eva Maria Perez, Ana Garcia among other curvy beauties from all over the world… and what is the icing on the cake? He has just revealed the portrait of the Editor of Plus Model Magazine Madeline Figueroa Jones another beautiful latina that is making a difference in this world, who has the same passion that we do for our curvy community, a woman who is so respected by many, being that voice that we need to stand up for us always defending us and she is doing an amazing job at it.
I am in awe with the portrait. Congrats Madeline Figueroa Jones for being one of Fernando Ferreiro’s beautiful Muses.

Marta Rivera is a blogger from Puerto Rico, she is an English professor and a Plus Size advocate on the Island, an Island that is mainly for thin models, but she is trying her best to change that. Marta will be blogging for Curvy Girl on a Budget letting us know everything that is happening in the Plus Size community from fashion to events in Puerto Rico.
Madeline Jones says
Thank you for your kind words Marta. I believe in the beauty in all of us. I have never believed that anyone should feel ‘less than’ for ANY reason, and certainly not for their size. For over ten years I have been working inside the plus size industry to further this mission. I have partnered and networked with many like minded people in my quest to further the plus size fashion industry and acceptance movement. In the past year it’s been my dream come true to work inside the Latina market, specifically in Puerto Rico. As a very proud Puerto Rican woman I want to help further the industry and will continue to use my knowledge and resources to do so. Being recognized in this manner and by the Latin Community is a true honor for me. Thank you for making this happen Marta. I admire your passion for the plus size industry.
